Re-electing BJP vital to ensure betterment of U’khand & its people- Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the Congress had questioned the surgical strike and had demoralised tha jawans by seeking proof of the surgical strikes. Those who had referred to the late chief of defence staff, general Bipin Rawat as a ‘sadak ka gunda’ are now using his cut-outs in their election campaign. While stating this at the Vijay Sankalp Sabha at Srinagar in Pauri district on Thursday, Prime Minister Modi said that it is vital to re-elect the Bharatiya Janata Party in Uttarakhand to ensure the development of the state and betterment of its people.

PM Modi began his public address by greeting the public in Garhwali language. During his speech, he said that the Congress had lied on one rank one pension which was implemented by the Bharatiya Janata Party government after it had been kept pending for decades by the Congress. He exhorted the people of the state to re-elect the BJP. The people of Uttarakhand have to remember that if the Congress comes to power it will apply brakes on the development works underway in the state, he said. The PM further requested the people to vote against the corruption and dynastic politics for which the Congress is known.

Modi said, “The mothers and sisters of Uttarakhand gave me their blessings while interacting with me. Such blessings give me the energy and motivation to work more. I assure you that I will return these blessings with interest.” Referring to the BJP’s election manifesto, the PM said that the vision document had been released by the party on Wednesday. It is a document that will enable further development of the state and make this Uttarakhand’s decade. Modi also spoke of the major development works undertaken by the double-engine government in the state. Targetting the Congress, he said that the party is now talking of the Char Dham in view of the elections. “The aim of the Congress is to get power through Char Dham whereas for us the Char Dham are associated with faith and development,” said the PM. He also referred to the Kedarnath reconstruction project, Badrinath master plan, Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail project and all-weather road project while also speaking about provisions made in the budget for Parvatmala project to enhance developments in the mountainous regions. He stressed that the BJP should be re-elected in Uttarahkand to ensure that development of the state and betterment of its people.
