Former Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Ganesh Godiyal has demanded that the State government should convene an all- party meeting for management of the Char Dham Yatra. He said that devotees from all parts of the country wait eagerly for the opening of portals of the Char Dhams and they visit these shrines with reverence. The people of Uttarakhand also wait for the Yatra to start. He added that however the mismanagement by the administration and failure by the State government to prepare a proper plan has resulted in chaos in the Yatra. Godiyal said that it appears that the Yatra has derailed due to the failure of the government. He said that the district magistrate (DM) of Uttarkashi has imposed section 144 from Janakichatti to Yamunotri which puts a question mark on the ability of the administration.  Launching an attack on the State government, Godiyal said that the government has failed to identify the problem and solution. He said that chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is busy in election campaigns in different parts of the country. “The government should call an all party meeting on the issue. The opposition is ready to suggest solutions to the government in the interest of the country. The imposition of section 144 in Uttarkashi has sent a wrong message to the devotees across the country,’’ he said.
