The police suspect that various powerful people and organisations are behind the contract killing of Dera Kar Sewa Pramukh of Udham Singh Nagar’s Nanakmatta Gurudwara, Tarsem Singh. Considering the whole murder was planned months ago and involved so many people in the conspiracy, it is possible that people like wanted gangster Goldie Brar could be behind this murder, the director general of police Abhinav Kumar said. However, he stated that these are just speculations and nothing concrete can be said about it. He stated this while responding to the queries regarding the main culprits that felicitated the contract killing of Tarsem Singh.
The DGP said that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the case has clues regarding the people behind this contract killing but nothing more can be disclosed at present without compromising the ongoing investigation. There is still loads of work to do in this case. The SIT is yet to investigate several leads. He also informed that apart from the two shooters, the SIT has not found a connection between the other three accused with the case so far whose names were registered in the FIR. He said that the police have also not found any religious angle in the case so far which was being propagated by many.
