Cabinet takes various decisions to move forward in Covid period

The state cabinet took decisions on 10 points in its meeting presided over by chief minister Tirath Singh Rawat here on Friday. Informing the media about the decisions taken in the meeting, cabinet minister and state government spokesman Subodh Uniyal said that a senior official will be posted for coordination between the Devasthanam Board and district administration to make the Char Dham Yatra more organised. This official will do the monitoring of Covid-19 SOPs to be implemented during the pilgrimage.

All Teerth Purohits will be vaccinated. From July 1, the pilgrims to Badrinath, Kedarnath and Gangotri-Yamunotri will be allowed for residents of Chamoli, Rudraprayag and Uttarkashi districts respectively on the condition that the pilgrims carry an RT-PCR or rapid antigen negative report. Uniyal said that overtime relaxation had been provided in factories during the second wave of Covid-19 as part of which four hours overtime could be done in two shifts of 12 hours each. This included maximum six days and 24 hours in total with 30 minutes of rest after six hours. Firing the employees would not be allowed.

The cabinet also decided to change the woman weaver contribution from 10 per cent to five per cent in the scheme to provide assistance to handloom women workers in the financial year 2021-22. Extension of the MSME department scheme for special encouragement to women entrepreneurs to March 31, 2023 was also approved by the cabinet. In another decision related to Covid, the cabinet granted its approval to allow contract workers instead of trained labour for operating Tata Magic ambulances to fill the gap due to shortage of ambulances on the demand of Tata Motors, Pantnagar for a period of nine months. These contract workers will receive all benefits granted to regular personnel.
