A 22-year- old woman died after a truck hit her scooty in the Dalanwala area on Sunday morning. The Dalanwala police received information from the control room at 6:15 AM on Sunday that two women riding a scooty were hit by an unknown truck near Mohini Cut. The police team reached the spot and found out that the woman riding the scooty named Hema Dharmshaktu (30) sustained injuries but another woman named Sapna Bisht (22) had died at the spot. The police informed that Hema lives in Dehradun’s DL Road area and the deceased belonged to Rudraprayag’s Thapli village but was currently living in Old Survey Road in Dehradun. They said that the body of the deceased was taken to the mortuary in Deen Dayal Upadhyay (Coronation) Hospital while the injured was also taken to hospital for treatment. The Dehradun senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh said that the police have started searching for the truck driver who hit the scooty that led to the death of the young woman. He will be nabbed soon, Singh added.
