Action against cattle owners leaving cattle on roads

In latest news from Uttarakhand, the Nainital district magistrate Vandana said that FIRs would be lodged against those cattle owners who leave their cattle on roads and appropriate actions would be initiated against them under relevant laws.  She met a delegation of the district cow protection committee and said that the sub-divisional officers would launch operation alongside the urban local bodies to stop the practice of the cattle owners dumpling cattle on roads.

She further said that funds have been allotted for the cow shelter at Gangapur Kabdwal and ordered the shelter to open by July.   She directed the officers concerned to monitor the functioning of the cow shelters regularly and report irregularity if found.
