Order on probe against illegal mining a election gimmick: AAP

Accusing the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami of being involved in the illegal mining in the state, the spokesman of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Navin Pirshali said the government has ordered a probe on the matter after staying mute on the issue for years to improve its image among the public ahead of 2022 state assembly elections.

Addressing media persons in a Press conference in the party’s head office in Dehradun, Pirshali said BJP is not just corrupt but also a government of mafias and CM has a major role to play in the government’s activities here like illegal mining. “His role was exposed when his letter went viral in which he directed the officials to release the truck which was seized for illegal mining.

Though other leaders have also been in connivance with such mafias in the state, Dhami always stays one step ahead than others on such matters,” stated Pirshali. He said that the forest minister Harak Singh Rawat’s recent statement stating that illegal mining has occurred in the two rivers in his constituencies also shows the stand of the government on the matter. “Did he or the government not realize about the issue in his constituency or the state for over four and a half years? Several bridges have been damaged causing the risk to life and property and the state has lost crores of revenue due to illegal mining but the government took no initiative to investigate the issue.

However, it has suddenly decided to seek a probe on the matter at the end of their tenure which is just an election gimmick,” added Pirshali.

He said the public will make BJP pay for their misdeeds in the elections next year.
