International Yoga Festival to start on March 1

The annual International Yoga Festival (IYF) will be inaugurated in Rishikesh on March 1. The event to be held from March 1 to 7 will be inaugurated by chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami along with the Tourism and Culture minister Satpal Maharaj. The participants will get to learn the various aspects of Yoga while also enjoying dance and music performances. The inaugural function will include various cultural programmes along with the Ganga Arti in the evening for the participants.

Along with noted Yogacharyas Padma Shri recipients Shivanand, Bharat Bhushan and Rajnikant, instructors from the Isha Foundation, Art of Living, Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute, Kaivalyadham, Krishnamacharya Yog Mandiram and Shivanand Yoga School will also teach the various aspects of Yoga to the participants in the IYF-2023. The seven-day schedule for the participants will be fixed which will include training on different aspects. Yoga sessions will be held in the morning every day while a drone show will also be held during the festival.

Considering the aspects of Yoga related to the body, mind and soul, talks will be organised on a range of subjects. Apart from this artistes will also perform varied cultural items including folk dance and music.
