546 new cases, 2,717 recoveries reported in U’khand

53 unreported deaths added to death toll on Tuesday

The state health department reported 546 new cases of Covid-19 and 13 deaths from the disease in Uttarakhand on Tuesday. The authorities also reported 2,717 recoveries from the disease on the day. The state now has 3,34,965 (  cumulative) patients with the disease while a total of 6797 patients have succumbed to the disease so far. A total of 2,717 patients have so far recovered from the disease and the recovery percentage has climbed to 92.63 per cent. The samples of 25,474 suspected patients were sent for testing on Tuesday and the sample positivity rate is at 6.69 per cent. The recovery percentage from the disease in the state is 92.63 per cent. 

Out of the 13 deaths reported on Tuesday, six occurred at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh. Similarly death of two patients each occurred at Mahant Indiresh hospital Dehradun and HNB base hospital Srinagar, Pauri Garhwal.

 The authorities also added 53 deaths in the toll which had occurred in the past but were not reported earlier. Incidentally 40 of these deaths were reported from Dehradun district alone. The AIIMS Rishikesh reported 25 deaths which had occurred in the past on Tuesday.

The provisional state capital Dehradun reported 136, Pithoragarh 88, Haridwar 69, Nainital 56, Almora 43, Udham Singh Nagar 41, Tehri 33, Chamoli 23, Rudraprayag 16, Bageshwar and Champawat 13 each, Uttarkashi eight and Pauri seven new cases of the disease on Tuesday.

The state now has 11,885 active patients of the disease. Haridwar is the top position in the list of active cases with 1,998 cases. Pauri has 1650, Nainital 1258, Bageshwar 1004,  Tehri 928, Almora 879, Dehradun 855,  Pithoragarh 843, Chamoli 781, Champawat 546, Udham Singh Nagar 421, Uttarkashi 388 and Rudraprayag 334 active cases of the disease.

 The state has so far reported 332 patients of Mucormycosis (Black fungus) and out of them 50 have died while 18 have recovered from the disease.

In the ongoing vaccination drive 38,993 people were vaccinated in 438 sessions in different parts of the state on Tuesday. A total of 6,89,421 people have been fully vaccinated while 24,22,461  have received the first dose of the vaccine in the state.
