Police nab three UP men with 60K controlled tablets

 The Haridwar police on Monday nabbed three Uttar Pradesh residents in Roorkee for alleged smuggling of controlled drugs and recovered 60,000 prescription tablets and 2,000 injectables. The Haridwar senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh informed that the police have been conducting an anti-drug campaign under which they conduct checking campaigns regularly.

Under one such campaign, the police on Monday arrested three accused Satish, Aakash and Amit Chandel belonging to the Muzaffarnagar district of UP for smuggling contraband. The value of the recovered contraband in the international market is in lakhs of rupees. The police also seized a car without a number plate which was purportedly used to smuggle drugs by the arrested accused.

The SSP said that a case was registered at Kaliyar police station and all accused were charged under several relevant sections. The SSP said that the police are gathering information about the criminal history of the arrested accused and that further action would be taken accordingly.
