Provide data of vacant posts & working staff- DG to CMOs

The director general (DG) of state health services, Dr Amita Upreti has directed the officials of the department to provide information about the serving doctors and para medical staff in the hospitals and the number of vacant posts.

The DG held a review meeting with the Chief Medical Officers (CMO) of the health department at the state directorate on Saturday. In the meeting she sought details about the status of vacant posts and deployed staff. She said that they should provide the data without any delay so that the decision regarding increasing or decreasing the sanctioned posts as per the Indian Public Health Standards (IPHS) norms. After this the department would start the process of filing the vacant posts. In the meeting the DG said that they should inform about the availability of the technical staff and doctors before placing the orders for purchase of equipment for the hospitals.  On a stern note the DG said that the process evaluation of the requirement of the medicines and equipment should be done. She also shared the report of National Family Healh Survey (NFHS) -5 on the infant and mother mortality rate and praised the efforts of the officers for improvement in child sex ratio in the state. She said that necessary steps should be taken to reduce the child and mother mortality rates and said that the number of child births in the government hospitals and centers is increasing. She said timely reporting of mother and child deaths and their death audit should be ensured.

In the meeting the DG said that the target of 100 per cent vaccination should be achieved without any more delay and said that all the oxygen generation plants should be activated. She said that all 87 PSA plants should be kept operational in the state. It is pertinent to mention here that only 62 plants are operational as of now in the state.

She said that the budget Utilization Certificate (UC) should be sent to her office on time.

The director Kumaon Dr Shailja Bhatt and other officers were also present in the meeting.
