The ritual process of closing the Badrinath temple to the public for the winter began on Tuesday with Panch Pooja. The first day of the ritual saw the portals of Lord Ganesh’s shrine being closed in the evening after ritual worship. In the morning Lord Ganesh was worshipped and then installed among the Badrish Panchayat where the pilgrims paid obeisance to him throughout the day. The Rawal Ishvari Prasad Namboodari, Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee vice chairman Kishore Panwar, Dharmadhikari Radhakrishna Uniyal and others were also present on the occasion. The BKTC media in-charge Harish Gaur said that as part of the Panch Pooja, the portals of Adi Kedareshwar temple will be closed for the winter on Wednesday.
