The director of Uttarakhand Culture department Beena Bhatt said that the two regional films- Sunpat and Pataal-Tee are outstanding films especially for the younger generation. She said this at a screening of the film organised on the weekend at the Himalayan Cultural Centre (HCC). Many people and officials were also present during the screening of the films.
Bhatt stated that having closely observed Bengali cinema renowned for its excellence, she discovered similar qualities in these Garhwali films. The vice-chancellor of Doon University Surekha Dangwal also expressed her views on the occasion. The audience also appreciated the movies. Commenting about the films, local resident Ruhi Kumar said that the directors of both the films must produce other films to promote the culture of the State internationally.
Director of Sunpat film Rahul Rawat told this correspondent that his aim is to create a market in Uttarakhand by making good films so that employment opportunities are also available in the
State and revenue comes to the state on a large scale.
