DSCL ready to make Doon child and travel friendly

The Dehradun district magistrate and chief executive officer (CEO) of Dehradun Smart City Limited (DSCL) R Rajesh Kumar said that the city will be developed as per suggestions and participation of all residents to make it a child and travel friendly city. He said this in the meeting of City, Investments to Innovate, Integrate and Sustain (CITIIS) on Sunday. He informed about the project to the local public representatives, the Dehradun mayor, local stakeholders and traders among others and asked for their suggestions too. He also directed the officials to identify child-friendly infrastructure facilities, footpaths, parking, convenient infrastructure for differently-abled and old people as well as places for small vendors with carts under the city project to ensure no one’s employment gets affected due to the project. The officials of the CITIIS project also provided detailed information about various works under the project. Kumar also instructed the officials of DSCL and other organisations involved in the smart city project to work in coordination with each other and regularly inspect the workplaces and make the administration aware of the work progress daily. The DM informed that the works like smart school, water ATM, traffic signal and smart toilets among others are almost done. Also, 21 kilometres of pipeline out of 29 km of the pipeline for the water distribution system has already been laid and the remaining work will be completed soon. The DM informed that the sewerage system and transportation facilities have been improved under DSCL and every activity is being caught through  CCTV cameras which are being monitored by Doon Integrated Command and Control Centre (DICCC) for security purposes. The orders to complete the remaining works soon like laying the power line and gas pipelines have been issued too, said Kumar.
