The Fire Service personnel in Uttarkashi came as saviours for a dog stranded on a mountainside on the banks of the Bhagirathi river. The Fire Service received information about a dog stuck on the mountainside on the bank of the river below the Joshiyara motor bridge near Tambakhani on Thursday morning. The personnel acted promptly and rescued the stranded canine with the help of the members of Bhagirathi Outdoors Association, Joshiyara. The dog was picked up by the rescuers from the mountainside and taken ashore on a boat by the personnel. The prompt action of the Fire Service personnel and volunteers has elicited appreciation from the locals.
