In latest news from Uttarakhand, the State health and higher education minister Dhan Singh Rawat is embarking on a two-day Kumaon tour starting from October 10 during which he is expected to pay surprise visits to several medical facilities and educational institutions in Nainital and Almora districts. Plus, he is likely to take stock-taking meetings involving secondary education, higher education and health departments. The senior Kumaon division education and health officials said that the minister is set to make the on–ground assessment of the state of things involving these departments.  After attending a BJP programme slated at Kusumkhera, he is expected to make an on-site inspection of the nursing college in Gusaipur. Thereafter, he would visit the community health centre at Kaladunghi where he will review the implementation of the Centre and the State-initiated health projects aside from interacting with patients and their relatives about whether they are satisfied with the functioning of the government-run facility. Besides, Rawat is likely to collect inputs about the currently executed Ayushman Bhava scheme at a meeting slated there.  Then he will chair a review meeting at the Government College at Kotabag where matters related to health and education for the people living within the Kaladunghi assembly constituency limits would figure. Other places the minister is slated to visit that day are the community health centre at Kotabag, the primary health centre at Bail Parao and directorate of higher education in Haldwani. The minister is slated to visit several health and educational facilities across Almora district, review implementation of government projects and seek feedbacks from people on October 11.
