Reacting strongly to the statement of the education minister Arvind Pandey in which he had termed Congress as a platform of corruption, the state Congress party has demanded an apology from the minister. The Congress spokesperson Pratima Singh said that the BJP and its leaders have been in a state of shock ever since the cabinet minister Yashpal Arya left the BJP and joined the Congress party. She said that the shocked leaders of BJP are now giving such statements. The Congress spokesperson said that the statement of education minister Pandey is against the ethos of the democracy and added that the BJP leaders consider only those who leave the party as corrupt. She questioned- why the BJP leaders didn’t raise questions when the defected leaders were in BJP? Asking the minister to do introspection, Singh said that the BJP talked about Zero tolerance on corruption in 2017 and promised that the office of Lokayukt would be constituted within 100 days of assuming power but the party has now forgotten all its promises.  She said that the people of the state were forced to bear the agony of rampant corruption. Corruption prevails from top to the bottom in the government. Singh said that Pandey should seek apology for his utterances.

Reacting to the defection of Yashpal Arya and his son Sanjeev and the statement of former chief minister Harish Rawat in which he had termed the turncoats who conspired against his government in March 2016 as sinners the education minister Arvind Pandey said on Wednesday that the Congress  is a platform of corrupt and anti nationals.
