Dhami remembers Durga Malla on his martyrdom day

In latest news from Dehradun, marking the martyrdom day of Major Durga Malla, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid floral tribute to the freedom fighter in the Shaheed Durga Malla Park in Garhi Cantt in Dehradun. On this occasion, he felicitated some Gorkha community people in recognition of their outstanding works in multiple fields. Notably, Major Malla joined the Indian National Army raised by Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose in 1942 during the Second World War and was captured by the British army personnel  on March 22 1944. He was kept at Red Fort as a prisoner of war.  He was then prosecuted by the military court and given death sentence. He was sent to the gallows on August 25 1944.
