15 BJP councillors of Roorkee resign from the party

Fifteen councillors of BJP in the Municipal Corporation of Roorkee (MCR) have tendered their resignation from the membership of their party alleging that dirty politics in the corporation is affecting development works in their respective wards and no senior leader of BJP is supporting them.  Addressing media persons in a Press conference held at Venkat Hall in Roorkee on Monday, BJP Councillor Shakti Rana said that everyone is hurt by the inappropriate politics in the corporation carried out by certain BJP councillors along with the councillors of Congress. He said that these councillors have collaborated to bring down various proposals of development projects which were proposed in the board meetings which have affected development work in their respective wards. Another councillor Navneet Sharma said that various projects were hindered in his ward due to such inappropriate politics but no senior BJP leader interfered to take cognisance of the issue. What is the point of being associated with such a political party that does not support you, added Sharma. Councilor Sachin Chaudhary also stated that state assembly elections are around the corner but how they will ask the public to vote for BJP when no development works are being done in their respective wards with BJP councillors. Due to such issues and lack of support from the senior leaders, 15 BJP councillors have sent their resignations to the district president of BJP, added Chaudhary. Among those councillors who have sent their resignations are Ankit Chaudhary, Sanjeev Rai, Virendra Gupta, Anoop Rana, Devki Joshi, Poonam Devi, Navneet Sharma, Sachin Chaudhary, Rajeshwari Devi, Shakti Rana, Rajesh Devi, Manju Bharti, Vineeta Rawat, Reshma Parveen and Sapna Dhariwal.
