Only eight passengers boarded the Volvo bus which was operated on Tuesday as a pilot project which covers the distance between Dehradun to Delhi within four hours.

The operation of a non-stop Volvo bus was started from the Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT) in Dehradun on Tuesday at 11 AM as a pilot project by Roadways which reduces the travel time by three hours. The divisional manager of Roadways in Dehradun, Sanjay Gupta informed that only eight passengers boarded the bus on the first day as not many were aware of its operation. “The numbers of passengers will increase in the next few days when more people will get to know about the operations of the bus.

The operation of this bus reduces the travel time of people by at least three hours on the said route and if we get a good response from this pilot project, the Roadways will start more such buses,” stated Gupta.

Informing about the fare of the bus, he said that the fare is the same as for the Volvo buses but it will be increased soon on the basis of the toll charge recovered on the route. He also said that the time of the operation of the bus will remain to be 11 AM from Dehradun and it will not be changed anytime soon.
