Twenty one years after the creation of Uttarakhand state, successive state governments have failed to execute concrete works in education, employment, medical health and power supply among other sectors. Delhi deputy chief minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) senior leader Manish Sisodia said this while addressing the media at Bhawali on Friday.

He claimed that if the AAP is elected to form the next government in Uttarakhand, jobs will be provided to one lakh persons which will include immediate recruitment to 57,000 vacant posts. He reiterated the past promises of the party including provision of upto 300 units of electricity free, developing Uttarakhand as the spiritual capital of Hindus, Rs 1,000 per month to every woman and unemployment allowance of Rs 5,000 each to the unemployed youth. Replying to a query, Sisodia said that there is no dearth of economic resources in Uttarakhand.

The tax from land development and other types of resources are adequate for ensuring the development of the state. He averred that the people of Uttarakhand are now fed up with corrupt and inefficient governments. So far the people had no other option apart from the BJP and Congress but the AAP is known for fulfilling its promises. He further said that while Uttarakhand receives about Rs 25,000 crore financial assistance from the centre, Delhi receives only about Rs 325 crore despite which the chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has worked with such dedication that today the Delhi government is functioning at profit. The Delhi chief minister has fulfilled the promises of free electricity, good education, health facilities and steps for women welfare. The AAP will work on the same lines to change the condition of Uttarakhand for the better, he said. Sisodia also addressed a public gathering on the occasion.
