33 accused arrested by STF in controversial paper leak case so far

Continuing progress in the Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC) paper leak case, the Uttarakhand Special Task Force (STF) has arrested Sanjay Rana who was employed as a Prantiya Rakshak Dal (PRD) employee in the UKSSSC for about eight years. He is the 33rd accused to be arrested by the STF in the paper leak case so far. Rana is a resident of Bhimtal in Chamoli district.

According to the STF, the accused Rana along with former PRD employee Manoj Joshi, who was arrested earlier in the case, had photocopied the question paper leaked from Lucknow at his home. He also gave the leaked question paper to his wife to enable her selection in the examination. The accused was arrested by the STF based on the statements of witnesses and technical evidence collected. The STF also recovered a photocopy machine and CPU from the accused. According to officials, he was working in the UKSSSC as a PRD employee from 2014 to April 2022.
