The Bharatiya Janata Party has stated that the Congress has made various impractical announcements in its election manifesto but has not spoken about how it intends to execute these. Addressing the media here on Sunday, the BJP State spokesman Suresh Joshi said that the Congress manifesto is hollow and a bundle of lies. He said, “The Congress is talking of the Nyay Patra today but it failed to do justice on any subject during its six decades in power whether it be national security, economy, inflation or running of the democratic system. The party which always did injustice is today remembering justice. They should say why they will provide Rs one lakh stipend but not jobs to the unemployed. The Congress should also say from where it will arrange the funds to provide this stipend. It should clarify from where it will make the budgetary provision to implement its five Nyay schemes. They are also talking of stopping the receipt of the Rs 21 lakh crore being received under GST. Will it once again indulge in corruption and scams or sell the nation?”

Joshi further said that compared to the purchase price of food grains on the day the term of the Congress government ended, the price is about double today. The purchase price of all important 55 food grains including wheat, rice and pulses has increased compared to the rates during the Congress’ term, he added. “Those who are talking of doing justice to women today did not do any work for the dignity of women despite having a woman Prime Minister thrice and a woman as the national head of the party for 23 years. After a long wait, the government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi provided reservation for women in the parliament and Assemblies. We also provided equal rights for women in Panchayats and other local bodies. The Congress’ view on justice to women can be gauged from the fact that to release its manifesto here it sent one of its women leaders who had recently insulted women,” Joshi added.
