The Haridwar police on Sunday arrested four women beggars on the charges of committing an unnatural sexual offence against another woman in the Har Ki Paidi area of the city. The Haridwar senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh informed that the victim, a beggar from the Kankhal area, registered a complaint at the Shyampur police station against four women beggars for alleged unnatural sexual assault against her inside her hut.

The police swiftly took action on the complaint and arrested all four accused from near the Shani Dev Mandir on Chilla Road on the same day. The SSP informed that the women stated on questioning that somebody had donated clothes to them and Rs 50,000 as a secret donation in the Har ki Paidi area which was supposed to be distributed among them all but the victim took all the money to her home at Shahjahanpur in Uttar Pradesh. Due to this betrayal, they allegedly committed the unnatural sexual offence to teach her a lesson, he said. He further said that the four accused will be sent to jail after completing the necessary procedure as per the protocols including medical tests among others.
