Major Pranay Negi’s last rites performed with full honours

The last rites of major Pranay Negi who was martyred while on duty on April 30 were conducted with full honours in Haridwar on Thursday. The soldier’s mortal remains were earlier received with full honours upon arrival at Dehradun cantonment and a military funeral was organised in Haridwar. The station commander of Dehradun cantonment, brigadier Sanjog Negi along with other senior officers and veterans laid wreaths to honour the martyr in Dehradun. The martyr was cremated with full military honours later in Haridwar. The Soldier Welfare minister Ganesh Joshi also paid tribute to Negi.

It will be recalled that Negi belonged to the Artillery regiment and was deployed in the high altitude area of Kargil sector.
