Senior leader of Congress party and former Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Pritam Singh has attacked the Uttarakhand government for its failure to maintain the law and order situation in the State. In a statement the Congress veteran and MLA from the Chakrata assembly constituency said that the pathetic condition of law and order situation in the State could be understood from the fact that the ministers of the Pushkar Singh Dhami government are demanding an increase in their security cover. He said that in such a situation when even the ministers are not feeling safe we can understand the condition of the general public.
The former PCC president said that it is surprising that conspiracy to murder a cabinet minister was hatched but the police and intelligence were not aware . Terming the incident as a total failure of government Singh added that Uttarakhand should have no place for such a politics of vengeance. He added that the recent incident in Udham Singh Nagar district in which the wife of senior block Pramukh was murdered reflects the total failure of the machinery in the state. Singh demanded that one incident after another is happening in the district and the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of the district should be removed immediately.
