The Mumbai police have arrested two people from Uttarakhand- Shweta Singh (18) and Mayank Rawal (21), and Vishal Kumar Jha (21), an engineering student from Bangalore in the ‘Bulli bai’ app case. The app hosted by GitHub targets Muslim women by putting up their pictures online for auction. Meanwhile, a Twitter user, suspected from Nepal claims to be the real mastermind behind the app. According to the officials, pictures of Muslim women were uploaded with objectionable messages which were circulated in the media using Twitter handles. The complaint was received on January 2.
