Assigning responsibilities to position holders a waste of public money: AAP

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has termed the recent decision of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to assign responsibilities to 10 political leaders as a waste of public money. According to the party leaders, CM has added an unnecessary financial burden on the State’s economy by assigning responsibilities to his own people in the name of development. The AAP media in-charge of the Garhwal division Ravindra Singh Anand said that it is a well known fact that Uttarakhand is in debt of over Rs 70,000 crore and despite that, the government here is wasting the public’s money in the name of assigning responsibility. “The State is already struggling with natural disasters and dengue outbreaks but the government has no money to provide some relief to the public through some welfare schemes. However, the CM seems fine with spending money on his own people in the name of assigning responsibility. Shouldn’t he take appropriate decisions in public interest in a current vulnerable time when people are in distress?” questioned Anand. He said that people are already bearing the brunt of inflation and the dengue outbreak has added to their injury as on average, almost every family has at least one patient in the city who is suffering from dengue. People are suffering financially due to hefty hospital bills and many have suffered this monsoon due to natural disasters but the government did not think of doing anything to alleviate their sufferings, claimed Anand. He added that spending money on assigning responsibilities is like the government robbing the people of their hard-earned money and AAP strongly opposes this move.
