In latest Uttarakhand news, with heavy downpour continuing to pound the hills in Chamoli district, a big stretch of the National Highway 109 between Karnaprayag and Gairsain near the village Kalimati was washed away, blocking transportation to the summer capital of the State Gairsain completely. It is learnt that a large chunk of debris falling on the road led to its blockage. The locals keep suffering as there is no alternative road left in the region through which the transportation can continue.
