In latest Uttarakhand news, the State government, in an important move, appointed advocate Avneesh Negi as the special public prosecution officer of the Ankita Bhandari murder case that had sent shock waves across the State. Negi will now appear before the court on behalf of the victim’s family. The State government is supposed to have made this new appointment in view of the victim’s parents having appealed to the chief minister to change the public prosecutor in this case who, they alleged, was not sincerely pursuing the case to give justice to them.
