The joint team of Uttarakhand Special Task Force (STF) and Goa Police arrested a man accused of duping a company of Rs 17 crore in Goa from Dehradun’s Patelnagar area. The senior superintendent of police of STF Ayush Agrawal said that the accused Ashok Kumar, a native of Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur who had been living in North Goa used to work in the accounts department of a company. He said that the accused, while working in the company for many years, fraudulently transferred Rs 17 crore of the company to his share market account.

Agrawal claimed that he switched off his and his family members’ mobile phones and ran away. The company representative filed a complaint against Kumar on December 29 last year in Goa’s Porvorim police station. The Goa police started the investigation and approached the Uttarakhand STF about the accused hiding in the State. The joint team of STF and Goa Police conducted a search operation in the State. The team traced the exact location of the accused hiding in Dehradun. He was finally arrested from Patelnagar’s Rajrani Wedding Point in the Sewla Khurd area on January 1. The accused was handed over to the Goa police, added Agrawal.
