A retired army officer and his wife were found dead at their residence in Ranipokhri area of the city on Thursday. The 58 years old husband allegedly shot himself after he killed his 55 years old wife on Thursday early morning. The police informed that the 58 years old deceased man used his licensed gun to kill himself and his wife.
The daughter-in-law of the couple was also present in the house during the incident but she has denied having any knowledge of the cause which led to the incident. The police said that the evidence at the crime scene suggests that the man shot his wife first before shooting himself. The dead bodies were sent for post-mortem and the police are investigating the matter.
