Pauri police nab man for fraud with health dept

The Pauri police have nabbed an accused from Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh for his involvement in the alleged fraud with a senior administrative officer of the district health department of Pauri district. The police informed that a senior officer from the CMO office, Sanjay Negi had filed a First Information Report (FIR) against the accused on July 23.

He mentioned in the report that the health department had paid an amount of Rs 45.7 lakh to a man from a private company of Delhi named Rajneesh Srivastava to deliver six ambulances during the Covid-19 pandemic within the specific time period, informed the police. According to them, the accused only delivered one ambulance to the department. He neither delivered the remaining ambulances nor did he refund the money to the department.

The police registered a case against the accused and started looking for him in various cities like Delhi, Ghaziabad, Bulandshahr and Lucknow but failed to nab him. The police informed that the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) P Renuka Devi had announced a reward of Rs 2,500 on the head of the said accused. The police finally nabbed the accused from Lucknow this week. The accused is presently in the judicial custody of the police for 14 days.
