Police return 201 lost mobile phones to owners

The special operation group and cyber crime cell recovered 201 lost mobile phones worth Rs 33 from across the district. The recovered phones were returned to their owners in the presence of Haridwar senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh.

Singh told media persons on Saturday said the police are taking cognisance of complaints of lost mobile phones daily. The SOG and cyber crime cell teams were deployed to trace the missing mobile phones. After considerable effort they were able to find many lost mobile phones.

Under the leadership of CO (Operations) Niharika Semwal, CIU and cyber crime cell in-charge Narendra Singh Bisht, the team has found 201 mobile phones worth Rs 33 lakh.  In the year 2022, lost mobile phones worth a total of Rs 63.54 lakh had been found by the police.  All the mobiles have been returned to their owners.
