Thursday, 12 October 2023 | PNS | PITHORAGARH

In latest news from Uttarakhand, the State tourism and PWD minister Satpal Maharaj said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s one-day visit of Pithoragarh and Almora districts has brought in its wake development projects worth Rs 4000 crore. While expressing gratitude to the PM, he said that this buttresses the conviction that the next decade would be Uttarakhand’s. He further said that the PM has remained attached with Uttarakhand since his maiden visit here on spiritual pilgrimage. He reiterated the State government’s stance that his visit would not just boost spiritual tourism but usher in massive development in this development-starved strategically important region. Since the yatra route to Kailash Manassarovar via Lipulekh Pass has remained blocked since the pandemic time, the State government has opened an alternative yatra route to Adi Kailash, he said and added that Adi Kailash is being deemed as the Kailash Manassarovar of India. As the Mount Kailash located in Tibet (China) gets reflected in the water of Manassarovar, the Adi Kailash throws its reflection in Parvati Kund where the PM offered puja and meditated.
