Many leaders of Congress party have expressed their condolences on the death of Indira Hridayesh. In her message, the Congress President Sonia Gandhi has expressed her deepest condolences on the sudden demise of Indira Hridayesh. She said that Hridayesh served the Congress party till her last breath and leaves behind a legacy of public service as an MLA, MLC, Minister, Leader of Opposition in Uttarakhand, and above all as a dedicated lifelong Congressperson.
“She was particularly popular amongst her colleagues for her knowledge of legislative processes and procedure as well as her performance as an able administrator. Her contribution to the Congress party will be treasured and cherished by all,’’ she said.
Former Chief Minister and General Secretary of All India Congress Committee, Harish Rawat said that Hridayesh would be remembered for her knowledge of parliamentary proceedings. “Her death is a great loss for all of us. She was a great leader, voice of people and teachers and a dedicated social worker,’’ he said.
In his message, the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Pritam Singh said that the death of Hridayesh is a personal loss for him. Singh said that she was always committed to raising the issue of public interest and was respected equally by the leaders in government and opposition. “ She played a great role in the development of the state. Her death is an irreparable loss. I pray for peace for the departed soul and wish that God gives strength to the family members in this hour of grief,’’ he said.
