The IFMS and UK visitor pass applications, e-pension portal, State GO portal, DBT portal and other portals developed by the Information Technology Development Agency (ITDA) were inaugurated by chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday. These developments are aimed at enabling good governance through digital innovations. Dhami said that various services have been simplified and are being made online for the convenience of the public. He said that the State government is moving forward towards good and paperless governance through e-governance. Work is also underway on connecting the youth to technical education and online training. The CM claimed that Uttarakhand is being developed also as a digital destination, adding that the State government is also working at a swift pace on network connectivity in the border regions. “We have promoted e-governance and put a check on corruption. Implementation of the online system in government offices has made a big impact on corruption. It is the priority of the State government to ensure that the people get the benefit of government schemes at home without unnecessarily making rounds of government offices,” said Dhami.

Secretary Shailesh Bagauli said that digitisation is being carried forward at a swift pace in Uttarakhand under the CM’s directions. Work is underway to install more than 500 mobile phone towers in the State under the 4G saturation scheme. Further, 950 government services have been brought under the right to service, out of which more than 600 services are also available online. Work on digital recordkeeping is underway in Uttarakhand while the State data centre has also been updated. The CM helpline 1905 has been linked with new and more technology while an e-system has also been made for simplification of complaints at the Tehsil level, Bagauli said.
