In latest Uttarakhand news, the State cabinet minister in-charge of Nainital district Rekha Arya inaugurated a mini stadium in the Government Inter-College premises in the Kaladhungi constituency. It has been constructed at the cost of Rs 25 lakh. In her inaugural address, the minister said that the children from the neighbourhood areas would no longer have to go far to practise sports. She further said that along with the State government and the sports department, the guardians should also motivate the children towards sports. “Study and sports should go hand in hand. Sports builds body and inculcates discipline,” she said.
Sports has immense potential now and the youngsters of Uttarakhand are excelling in sports nationally and internationally, she said, adding that to impart further push to sports activities, the department of youth affairs and sports are opening mini stadiums in every district of the State.
