Plains to experience heat, light rains forecast in five mountain districts

The plains in the State will continue to experience hot days while parts of five districts may experience light rain on Monday. The maximum temperature in provisional State capital Dehradun reached 37 degrees Celsius on Sunday while in Pantnagar it reached 38 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, the State meteorological centre has forecast that very light to light rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts on Monday. Dry weather is likely to prevail in the remaining districts of the State. Dehradun is likely to witness mainly clear to partly cloudy skies with thunder cloud development likely to occur in some areas towards the evening/night. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 37 degrees Celsius and 19 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.

The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Sunday were 37 degrees Celsius and 18.5 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 38 degrees Celsius and 16.1 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 25.9 degrees Celsius and 10.6 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 24.9 degrees Celsius and 12.2 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
