DSCL receives award in Safe City category of Smart Cities India Awards

The district magistrate of Dehradun and chief executive officer (CEO) of Dehradun Smart City Limited (DSCL) received an award in the Safe City category of Smart Cities India Awards 2022 in Delhi on Friday. The minister of state in the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma and joint secretary of Ministry of Science and Technology, Anju Bhalla presented him the award in the award ceremony organised at Pragati Maidan in Delhi by the Indian trade promotion organisation (ITPO). The CEO received this award for various works being done under the Doon Integrated Command and Control Centre (DICCC) like installation of cameras at 536 different locations in the city that has prevented several overspeeding accidents. Besides this, authorities have also issued a total of 41,567 challans under DICCC. A total of 58 Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras have also been installed at entry and exit points of the city. DSCL has also installed Emergency Call Boxes (ECBs) at 107 locations, Public Announcement System (PAS) at 24 locations and 50 Variable Message Display Boards (VMDs) under DICCC. Kumar said on the occasion that such awards boost the morale of the team and DSCL will continue to work under DICCC to make the city a safe zone for everyone. The additional district magistrate (ADM) and additional executive officer of DSCL, KK Mishra were also present in the event.
