Amitabh Bachchan arrives for film shooting in U’khand

Famous actor Amitabh Bachchan reached a hotel in Narendranagar in Tehri district on Friday. He is in Uttarakhand to shoot for the film ‘Goodbye’. The shooting for the film will take place from March 26 to April 4 at various locations in Rishikesh and Dehradun, said the Uttarakhand Film Development Council nodal officer KS Chauhan.  

“The filmmaker had sought online permission for the shooting, which was given by the authorities within two hours,” said Chauhan. Many junior artists from Uttarakhand will also play their part in the film, he added.  

Uttarakhand is becoming a hub of film shooting and the government is also making efforts to attract filmmakers. Goodbye is an upcoming Bollywood drama film, which is being directed by Vikas Bahl. The film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Pavel Gulati and Rashmika Mandanna besides Neena Gupta. In this film, Bachchan is playing the role of a retired officer.

Bachchan reached Dehradun airport at around 12 PM by a charter flight. The fans rushed to get a glimpse of the famous actor but due to security arrangements, no one was allowed to go near him. However, some of the airport employees were able to get themselves photographed with the actor. As news of the actor reaching the hotel in Narendranagar spread, curious people gathered outside the hotel but were unable to meet him.

After leaving the Dehradun airport, the actor headed to a prominent hotel in Narendranagar area of Tehri district by road. Bachchan will stay here for a few days. According to sources, scenes of the movie are slated to be shot at locations in Rishikesh and nearby areas including Ram Jhula, Lakshman Jhula, Geeta Ghat and the Dehradun airport.
