CM Dhami reaffirms resolve for Uniform Civil Code in U’khand

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has reiterated the commitment of his government to impose the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Uttarakhand. Addressing a Jan Samwad programme held at Dr APJ Abdul Kalam technology institute Tanakpur in Champawat district on Saturday he said  that the people of the state have blessed the BJP to serve them again and as per the promise the UCC would be soon implemented in the state. Dhami said that his government would provide three free cylinders in a year to the poor families. He said that the BJP government works on the principle of ‘Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas’ and this concept was the driving force behind the free ration scheme initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the pandemic of Covid-19.

Addressing the gathering the CM said that the work has been initiated on the Tanakpur- Bageshwar rail link project and a sum of Rs 29 Crores has been released for survey of the project. He asserted that all the schemes of his government would be made by keeping the interests of the poor at centre. Dhami claimed that Uttarakhand would be made a leading state of the country by the time it celebrates its silver jubilee. He said that after the opening of a branch of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh the people of the area would not have to travel long distances from treatment.

He said that in a major initiative the Uttarakhand government has decided to extend the benefit of old age pension to both husbands and wives in a family. Dhami added that the state government has increased the daily allowance of sanitation workers.

The CM also held an inspection of the institute and visited the library, laboratory and class rooms on the day. He also listened to the public grievances on the occasion and directed the officers concerned to take necessary measures.

The local MLA Kailash Gehtodi, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) police Nilesh Anand Bharne, District Magistrate Vineet Tomar, Superintendent of Police (SP) Devendra Pincha and others were present in the programme with CM.
