Citizens have taken over reins of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra: Dhami

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the people have taken over the reins of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra on the call given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said this while attending a Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra camp held at Tanakpur in Champawat district on Wednesday. He visited the stalls put up by various departments and also presented cheques to beneficiaries of different government schemes on the occasion. The CM presented cheques of Rs one lakh each to nine women self help groups under NRLM, cheques of Rs 13 lakh to 10 Sadhan Sahkari Samitis and Mukhyamantri Mahalakshmi kits to 10 women beneficiaries. He also flagged off 10 new vehicles of the municipality on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Dhami said that the people of the nation have taken up the reins of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra on the call given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi who had inaugurated this programme. People in all States are participating enthusiastically in this effort. He said that raising public awareness on the government’s welfare schemes and providing the benefit of these schemes to those deprived of them is a priority of the government. He said, “The Central government’s Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is centered around public welfare schemes. Nineteen schemes have been identified for the rural areas and 15 for urban areas. These include Swastha Bharat Mission along with various schemes related to food security, quality education, health services, proper nutrition, housing for the poor, financial services and social security.

The Yatra vehicles are reaching Gram Panchayats in every district to raise awareness on the government schemes. Activities like quiz, cultural programmes and drone demonstrations are also being held. The success stories of the beneficiaries and achievements are also being shared as part of this initiative,” he said. The CM directed the officials to ensure that the schemes of the Central and State governments reach every village, in addition to which those deprived of the benefits of these schemes should also be provided the same. 

Dhami said that the resolve of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is to ensure the development of the nation in all aspects by 2047. The campaign vehicles in the form of PM Modi’s guarantee are reaching all the corners of the State to ensure that the benefits of the government schemes reach all the citizens, he said. Dhami further added that more than 63,000 people have so far benefitted in the State from various government schemes as part of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra.
