Bansal files nomination for RS seat

The Bharatiya Janata Party candidate for one Rajya Sabha seat from Uttarakhand, Naresh Bansal filed his nomination papers here on Tuesday. Chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, BJP state president Banshidhar Bhagat, MP Ajay Bhatt, cabinet minister Madan Kaushik and state minister Dhan Singh Rawat among others were also present with Bansal on the occasion.

Earlier, in the morning Bansal visited the Dat Kali temple to seek blessings of the goddess. He then reached the BJP State office where he was welcomed by party’s office bearers, MLAs and party workers. Speaking on the occasion, the BJP State president expressed happiness at the party granting the ticket to Bansal. “He is an old party worker who had left his job in a bank to serve the party. Bansal has served the organisation in various capacities,” said Bhagat. Later in the afternoon, he went along with the CM, Bhagat and others to the statehood martyrs memorial to pay his respects. He then reached the Vidhan Sabha to file his nomination.  Expressing happiness at Bansal being given the ticket, the CM said that he was a senior party worker who had served the organisation in various capacities. Bansal thanked PM Narendra Modi, BJP national president JP Nadda, Home minister Amit Shah, Defence minister Rajnath Singh, the CM and the party’s state president for the opportunity.
