AIIMS Rishikesh holds training for nursing officers

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh organised a workshop for the nursing officers on Tuesday in which they were trained on various aspects of preventing infection. Titled ‘Training of Trainers in Making Link Infection Prevention Nurses’ the workshop was organized under the joint aegis of Department of Advanced Centre for Continuous Professional Development (ACCPD), Infection Control Team and Department of Nursing Services of the institute.

Speaking on the occasion, the Director of AIIMS- Rishikesh, Dr Ravikant said that the institute is training nursing officers while keeping in mind the international standards.

“Gaining experience from AIIMS Rishikesh Nursing officers can provide their better services not only in the country but also abroad,’’ he said. 

The Dean Hospital Affairs, Dr U B Mishra said that the nursing staff plays an important role in controlling the infection in hospitals.

In the workshop lectures were given on the necessary precautions to control infection in any part of the body, maintaining cleanliness around the patient and ways to prevent infection.
