7,127 new patients, 122 deaths in Uttarakhand on Thursday

The cumulative count of Covid 19 patients in Uttarakhand climbed to 2,71,810 on Thursday as the state health department reported 7127 new cases of the disease. The authorities also reported the death of 122 patients of the disease on the day which increased the death toll to 4,245 in the state. The department discharged 5,748 patients from different hospitals after their recovery on the day. A total of 1,84,207 patients have so far recovered from the disease. The recovery percentage is now at 67.77 while the sample positivity rate is 6.51.

A total of 122 deaths occurred in the state from Covid 19 on Thursday.  Out of them 15 occurred at Sushila Tiwari government hospital Haldwani, 12 at District hospital Rudrapur Udham Singh Nagar, 11 each at Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital Dehradun and Prayas hospital Khatima and eight each at Himalayan Hospital Dehradun and HNB base hospital Srinagar.

Similarly six deaths occurred each at Base hospital Almora and Kalindi hospital Vikasnagar Dehradun, five at Neelkanth hospital Nainital and four each at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh and Mahant Indiresh hospital Dehradun on Thursday.

The provisional state capital Dehradun reported 2094 new cases of the disease on Thursday. Haridwar reported 1354, Udham Singh Nagar 691,  Nainital 587, Tehri 508, Uttarkashi 317, Pauri 361, Rudraprayag 304, Chamoli 297, Almora 210, Champawat 177, Pithoragarh 156 and Bageshwar 71 new cases of the disease on Thursday.

The state now has 78,304 active patients of the disease. Dehradun remains at the top of the table of active cases of the disease with 28,163 patients; Haridwar has 13,540, Nainital 7,126, Udham Singh Nagar 5,916, Pauri 5,363, Tehri 4,807, Chamoli 2,264, Uttarkashi 2,219, Almora 2,051, Rudraprayag 2,016, Champawat 1,960, Pithoragarh 1,517 and Bageshwar 1,362 active cases of the disease.  To contain the contagion of Covid-19, the state administration has set up 499 containment zones in different parts of the state.  In the ongoing vaccination drive 30,843 people were vaccinated in 508 sessions in different parts of the state on Thursday. A total of 6,70,321 people have so far been fully vaccinated in the state while 18,65,632 have been partially vaccinated.
