The body of a war widow aged around 85 years was found on the side of highway in Tanakpur town of Champawat district. Her gold ornaments, including earring, were found missing. In view of this, police are suspecting it to be a murder case. Police reached the spot in time and sent the body for postmortem. Police said investigation into the suspected crime has started. The deceased old woman has been identified as Bhagirathi Devi, resident of Tanakpur. It is further learnt that she was living alone as the son of the deceased Mohan Chand who is an ex-Army man is living in Dehradun with his family. Mohan said that there were some gold ornaments on her and they were found missing.
