Vaccine jabs for 18-44 years age from May 10 in U’khand

First consignment of 1 lakh doses of Covishield arrives in state

The vaccination of the 18 to 44 year age group population in Uttarakhand would commence from May 10. The state received the first consignment of one lakh doses of the vaccine for vaccinating 18-44 year age people on Saturday.  The secretary, state  health services, Amit Singh Negi said that a consignment of one lakh doses of Covishield vaccine arrived at Dehradun airport Jollygrant on Saturday. These doses were then shifted to the walk in cooler at the state medicines store in Chander Nagar. From here the vaccines would be sent to all the districts. Negi said that about 50 lakh people of 18- 44 years of age would be vaccinated free of cost in Uttarakhand. He said that the vaccination would be done at designated centres and information about them would be made available at CoWin portal.

The registration for vaccination of the above mentioned population has started in the CoWin portal and Arogya Setu App from April 28 and vaccination would be done only through appointment through the portal and App. For registration one should log on to selfregistration.cowin.gov.in.
