U’khand to organise Health Fairs in all 95 blocks of state

Health dept to start tele-consultation facility in the health and wellness centres of the state

The department of health and family welfare of Uttarakhand would organise Health Fairs in all the 95 block headquarters from April 18 to 22. These fairs are being organised to commemorate fourth anniversary of the Ayushman Bharat scheme. Similarly the one day health fairs would also be organised in all the seven municipal corporations and 11 municipal councils of the state. The health minister Dhan Singh Rawat said on Saturday that digital health ID of every citizen would be made in these fairs.

These IDs would have details of non communicable disease such as diabetes, hypertension, oral cancer and others after the screening of the individuals. The minister said that Ayushman card of eligible persons would be made in these camps and treatment would be done through Tele consultation and referral. In these camps information about maternal and child health, family planning, IEC- Family welfare, reproductive transmitted disease, their screening and treatment would be done.

Similarly information about personal and environmental hygiene, leprosy control, TB, malaria and skin care would be done. In the fairs refractive error of eyes would be checked and screening would be done for cataract. Rawat said that the Government of India has provided a sum of Rs two lakhs under National Health Mission (NHM) for these fairs. He said that a committee consisting of eight to ten members has been constituted at the block level for successful holding of these fairs.

This committee would be headed by district magistrates (DM) and chief medical officers (CMO) concerned and would be responsible for organising these fairs. Apart from the blocks the health fairs would be organised in Municipal Corporations of Haldwani, Rudrapur, Kashipur, Dehradun, Rishikesh, Kotdwar and Haridwar and municipal councils of Nainital, Pithoragarh, Champawat, Bageshwar, Almora, Gopeshwar, Pauri, Srinagar, Tehri, Uttarkashi and Rudraprayags.

The DMs and CMOs have been asked to ensure participation of Member of Parliaments (MP), local MLAs, district panchayat presidents and block Pramukhs in these fairs. In the fair the linear departments such as National Health Authority, Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, Panchayati Raj, education, information and culture would also participate.
