In latest Uttarakhand news, while visiting the SOS Children’s Village in Bhimtal in Nainital, the State women empowerment and children development minister Rekha Arya interacted with the children living there and enquired into their lives. Notably, the Children’s Village was set up in 1984 to take long-term care of the orphaned and abandoned children in the State. After inspecting the Children’s Village where several children are living and receiving education/training, she said that the children welfare initiatives being taken there might be applied in the shelter homes the State government has been running across Uttarakhand. She stressed that the children living in such set-ups must be helped and inspired to move forward in life and appreciated the welfare initiatives being taken in the Children’s Village Bhimtal under the guidance of its director Deepak Saxena.
